2018 Debut Author Challenge Begins

Not a lot of people know this, but I had the distinct pleasure of serving on the 2018 William C. Morris selection committee. For those of you not familiar with the Morris Award, hello. It is obvious that we have not met formally. Why do I say this? Because this is hands down my FAVORITE book award ever. It's given to the "best YA debut" book every year at the ALA Midwinter Conference. (Look for a future post about the finalists!)

When I found out I was going to serve on the committee, I was thrilled! But then I realized that I wouldn't be able to say anything on social media about the books I read as a result of serving on the committee. Like. EVER.

Which is why I am psyched to be able to take part in the 2018 Debut Author Challenge, sponsored by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. (You can sign up clicking on the icon below!) While there will be some MG books on my reading list, most of my titles will probably be YA!

Check back often and see my progress! I already know the first two books I'm going to curl up with! And let me know what debut, YA or otherwise, you're looking forward to reading this year in the comment section!
